Journalist Mario Munera was attacked by riot police officers wielding batons as he covered a 'March for Dignity' protest for Ruptly in Madrid on Saturday.
The anti-austerity protest, attended by thousands of demonstrators, broke up into smaller groups as police attempted to contain the march. Activists reports say there were widespread arrests and injuries, but no official confirmation has made by authorities.
Munera was filming the escalating protest, when he was pushed to the ground and beaten. The videojournalist received hospital treatment for his injuries.
